A miniature bottle of Young's Mountain Dew Gold Medal, 'The Real Original as Sold Prior to 1834'. This was bottled by Edward Young & Co. Ltd., we estimate in the 1920s to 1930s.
The back label reads:
Extract from The Lancet, 10th November 1923 - The Lancet Says: - "'Mountain Dew' Scotch Whisky, Edward Young & Co. Ltd., Glasgow, Liverpool and London. This well known brand of Whisky, which claims to be 'The real original sold prior to 1834', has been analysed by us and considerations based on the analytical figures point to this Whisky being a thoroughly well-matured and carefully-made Spirit. The flavour and aroma are agreeable and characteristic of a high-grade Scotch Whisky."
Please note, there is no size or ABV stated on the label.
This bottle is from a large collection of miniatures purchased by the seller at an auction in 1979. The collection is mainly comprised of blended Scotch whiskies and single malts bottled in the first half of the 20th century.
Please see images for fill level and label condition. Note wear to the labels and capsule.
