A miniature bottle of Premier Extra Old Scotch Whisky, produced by Wright & Greig Ltd. We estimate this was bottled in the 1920s to 1930s.
Please note, there is no size or ABV stated on the label.
This bottle is from a large collection of miniatures purchased by the seller at an auction in 1979. The collection is mainly comprised of blended Scotch whiskies and single malts bottled in the first half of the 20th century.
Wright & Greig Ltd. was established in Glasgow in 1868 and grew into a well known wine wholesaler and whisky merchant with a large premises on Glasgow's Cadogan Street. It produced the Roderick Dhu blend and Shaugrun Irish whiskey. The firm purchased Dallas Dhu distillery (then called Dallasmore) in 1899, but went into liquidation just 20 years later. The company's assets were transferred to its associate Bulloch Lade, which then became part of Distillers Company Limited.
