Description

A litre bottle of Vat 69 blended Scotch whisky. We estimate this was bottled in the 1980s.

The label carries a royal warrant by appointment to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

Please note there is no size or ABV stated on the label, but this appears to be a 100cl bottle.

VAT 69 was created by William Sanderson & Son. It chosen by Sir Ernest Shackleton to accompany him on his Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition of 1914 'for medicinal and celebratory purposes', and was also famously the favourite whisky of Captain Lewis Nixon of the 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment, immortalised in the book and TV series Band of Brothers.

This Vat 69 sold at our online auction for £20
