Description

A bottle of Dalwhinnie 25 Year Old, the fourth entry in the Diageo Special Releases range for Dalwhinnie. This was distilled in 1987, matured in rejuvenated American oak casks and bottled at 52.1% ABV in 2012.

This is bottle number 2038 of 5358.

When it was built in 1897 the distillery was called Strathspey, the owners changed the name to Dalwhinnie, which means 'Plain of Meetings' in Gaelic, when production started in 1898. The name is a reference to its location at a junction of old drove roads, between two mountain ranges. A fire in 1934 caused a four year closure.
