Description

A bottle of Tormore single malt Scotch whisky. This was distilled in 1997, matured in 1st fill bourbon barrels and bottled in 2012 by Gordon & MacPhail as part of the Connoisseurs Choice series.

Tormore is a comparatively modern distillery and was built by Schenley International, owner of the Long John brand, in 1959, with distillation commencing in 1961. Since opening, the number of stills double from four to eight, each of which is enhanced by copper purifiers. A time capsule is buried in the distillery forecourt, due to be opened in 2060, it contains some glasses and a large bottle of Long John blended whisky.
