A bottle of Fumé de Pouilly Silex 2004 from producer Didier Dagueneau.
Didier Dagueneau was a winemaker in the Pouilly Fumé region of France's Loire valley, and attracted wide acclaim in his efforts to make 'the best Sauvignon Blanc in the world'. Unusually for what is generally regarded as an early-drinking variety, his wines were substantially structured, sometimes oaked, and intended for extended cellaring.
Dagueneau tragically died in a microlight plane accident in 2008.
Please see images for fill level and label condition. Please note, this wine was released to market without a capsule.
