A bottle of 1936 Château Latour Martillac Exceptionnel, produced under the ownership of Alfred Kressman.
Château Latour Martillac is located in Bordeaux's Graves region and has been producing wine since the 19th century.
This bottle originally belonged to the seller's mother who owned Hôtel des Voyageurs, Normandy. In the lead up to World War II, a false wall was constructed to hide her belongings in a secret cellar. This was one of the bottles that was discovered after the cellar was reopened following the end of the war.
Please see images for fill level and label condition. The label is mostly missing. Note damage to the capsule.
This contains a significant amount of sediment.
This lot is offered for historical interest rather than for human consumption.
Note the absence of a condition statement does not imply that this lot is in perfect condition or free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of ageing. Older bottles often contain small amounts of sediment. We cannot guarantee that the contents of this bottle will be free from the effects of age, cork taint, oxidation or other faults.
This bottle does not appear to be leaking. While we take every care to pack bottles securely we cannot guarantee that old corks and closures will not leak in transit.
