A ceramic decanter of Old Smuggler Finest blended Scotch whisky from the Castles of Scotland series, featuring Glamis castle, No.2, 1977. This was imported to Italy by Soffiantino, we estimate in the late 1970s.
In 1930, Hiram Walker & Sons launched a European expansion and purchased a 60% share in two companies: The Stirling Bonding Company, and James and George Stodart Ltd. In 1936, Hiram Walker further bought out minority shareholders, and completed the purchase of George Ballantine & Sons. Soon after, all Hiram Walker companies moved to shared headquarters in Dumbarton, within close proximity to the eponymous grain distillery which was, at the time, the newest and largest in Scotland. Old Smuggler is still produced today by Hiram Walker, under its J & G Stodart subsidiary.
Please see images for fill level and label condition. This appears to have a good fill level.
This decanter weighs approximately 1.43kg
