Balvenie 15 Year Old Sailing Ships Series - Bencleuch 1875 5cl

A miniature bottle of Balvenie 15 Year Old, matured in a single cask, and bottled by Signatory Vintage for their Sailing Ships series.

This entry in the series commemorates the Bencleuch which was launched by R. Steele & Co. in 1875. Its life sadly came to an abrupt end in 1908 as it was shipwrecked whilst on passage from Riga to Swansea.

This is bottle number of 332 of 1200.

This lot comes from the extensive collection of a Merseyside collector who began his hobby with bottles bought for guests as digestifs at private dinner parties in the early 1970s. His interest led to him advertising in the UK national newspapers, and buying and selling bottles as far afield as Australia, America and Ireland, with his last significant addition being a collection he purchased from Stoke On Trent in 1984.
