The Spirit of Independence contains two miniature bottles of Glenfarclas 1988 presented in a wooden box, produced by Artesania Beas, Spain. These were bottled for the 3rd Annual meeting of the Spanish Club of Miniature Liquor Bottles Collectors, celebrated in Sevilla and Jerez, Spain, in September 2013.

This is set number 235 of a limited edition of 360.

Glenfarclas is one of the oldest distilleries in Speyside, and since it was purchased by John Grant in 1865 for £512, it has remained under the Grant family's ownership. Known for its masterful use of European oak sherry casks and direct-fired stills, the distillery was the first to release a cask strength single malt (Glenfarclas 105° was released in 1968), and among the first to open a visitor centre in 1973. Though the distillery does supply blenders, it has always held a sizeable portion of its output for single malt bottlings, resulting in Glenfarclas retaining more significant volumes of aged stocks than most distilleries.
