A 37.5cl bottle of Opitz One 1997 Schilfwein Strohwein wine from Austria.
Opitz One is a late harvest, botrytis-influenced red dessert wine, made from the Austrian native grape Zweigelt. The key factor in its production is air drying on reed mats harvested from around the nearby lake of Neusiedlersee for six months prior to pressing. Opitz produces around 80,000 bottles and over 30 different wines annually, with the focus of interest being on his sweet wine, some of which have yields as tiny as 7 hectolitres per hectare.
