Description

A bottle of The Balvenie 17 Year Old. This was matured entirely in sherry oak, an unusual expression as most Balvenies use a significant proportion of American oak. This was bottled in 2007.

The Balvenie distillery was founded in 1889 by whisky pioneer William Grant, and has been in the same family for five generations. Today, it is one of the few family-owned distilleries in Scotland, producing whisky in a traditional style; using local barley where possible, and still maintaining their own malting floor.
