Description

A bottle of Dalwhinnie 16 Year Old from Italian independent bottler Sestante. This is presented in an Atlantis crystal decanter. We estimate this was bottled in the 1980s.

When it was built in 1897 the distillery was called Strathspey, the owners changed the name to Dalwhinnie, which means 'Plain of Meetings' in Gaelic, when production started in 1898. The name is a reference to its location at a junction of old drove roads, between two mountain ranges. A fire in 1934 caused a four year closure.
