Description

A bottle of John Jameson & Son's Redbreast 10 Year Old Irish whiskey. This was matured and bottled by Gilbey's of Ireland. We estimate this was bottled in the 1970s.

At the turn of the 20th century W & A Gilbey Ltd held more than 700,000 gallons of Jameson whiskey in bonded storage at their Harcourt Street warehouse. As importers of sherry they had easy access to casks and would supply these to Jameson to be filled with whiskey. This whiskey would later be sold by Gilbey's under either the Redbreast or Castle Grand JJ brand.

This John Jameson & Son's Redbreast 10 Year Old sold at our online auction for £420
