Description

A bottle of the fifth batch of The Balvenie Tun 1401. Named after David Stewart's favourite marrying vat, this was a vatting of five traditional whisky casks and four European oak sherry butts.

The Balvenie distillery was founded in 1889 by whisky pioneer William Grant, and has been in the same family for five generations. Today, it is one of the few family-owned distilleries in Scotland, producing whisky in a traditional style; using local barley where possible, and still maintaining their own malting floor.
