A hand-blown bottle with a gold wax shoulder stamp and seal. The gold text reads: 'Armagnac Ryst 100 ans' which translates as 'Armagnac Ryst 100 Years Old'. We estimate this was bottled between 1948 and 1950.
Ryst Dupeyron has confirmed that this Armagnac contains eaux-de-vie distilled before 1850 and is therefore pre-phylloxera.
The bottle was produced at the Verrerie d’Albi and is embossed 'Made in France'.
There is no size or ABV stated, but this appears to be approximately 70cl.
Please see images for fill level and label condition. Note damage to the wax seal. The top of the wooden cork stopper is exposed, but does not appear to have been removed.
Note the absence of a condition statement does not imply that this lot is in perfect condition or free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of ageing.
This bottle does not appear to be leaking. While we take every care to pack bottles securely we cannot guarantee that old corks and closures will not leak in transit.
