A 56.8cl bottle of Jamaica Rhum Authentique from The Quebec Liquor Commission, bottled at 35 Overproof, or 77.1% ABV. The label and paper wrapping are woven with blue and red threads which was an anti-counterfeit measure patented in 1926. We estimate this was bottled in the late 1920s to 1930s.
The Quebec Liquor Commission (Société des alcools du Québec) was created following the Alcoholic Beverages Act of 1921. This act repealed the partial prohibition which had been in place since 1919. The Commission acted as a monopoly on the sale and distribution of alcohol in the province.
Please see images for fill level and label condition. Note wear to the label, capsule and paper wrapping.
Note the absence of a condition statement does not imply that this lot is in perfect condition or free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of ageing.
This bottle does not appear to be leaking. While we take every care to pack bottles securely we cannot guarantee that old corks and closures will not leak in transit.
