Description

A bottle of Dalwhinnie 15 Year Old Centenary Edition. This was bottled at 56.1% ABV to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the distillery in 1998. This bottling is a tribute to the staff of Dalwhinnie.

This is bottle number 257.

When it was built in 1897 the distillery was called Strathspey, the owners changed the name to Dalwhinnie, which means 'Plain of Meetings' in Gaelic, when production started in 1898. The name is a reference to its location at a junction of old drove roads, between two mountain ranges. A fire in 1934 caused a four year closure.
