Description

A bottle of Spey Royal Fine Old Scotch Whisky. This was distilled, blended, and bottled in Scotland by W A Gilbey Limited. We estimate this was bottled in the 1950s.

The label carries a royal warrant by appointment to the Late King George VI.

Please note there is no size or ABV stated on the labels.

Spey Royal was launched following the takeover of James Catto & Co. by W & A Gilbey in 1916. The group, which owned Glen Spey, Knockando and Strathmill distilleries, eventually merged in 1962 with United Wine Traders to form International Distillers and Vintners (now Diageo).

Glen Spey is featured by name on the label and may form part of the blend.

This Gilbey's Spey Royal sold at our online auction for £35
