Dalwhinnie 1957 22 Year Old Bottled 1979 - Cadenhead 'Dumpy' 75cl / 46%
A bottle of Dalwhinnie 22 Year Old from independent bottler Cadenhead. This was distilled in May 1957 and bottled in June 1979.
When it was built in 1897 the distillery was called Strathspey, the owners changed the name to Dalwhinnie, which means 'Plain of Meetings' in Gaelic, when production started in 1898. The name is a reference to its location at a junction of old drove roads, between two mountain ranges. A fire in 1934 caused a four year closure.
