Description

A bottle of Claymore, a blended Scotch whisky, sealed with spring cap closure. This was produced by Macdonald, Greenlees, Ltd.

A Claymore was a large two-edged sword used by traditional Scottish Highlanders. It comes from the Gaelic word 'claidheamhmor'.

This bottle is from a large collection built up during the 1940s, 1950s, 1960s and early 1970s.

The New Zealand based collection is mainly comprised of blended Scotch whiskies and early Single Malt Scotch whiskies produced for export markets.

The bottles were inherited and conserved by the seller, the collector’s son.

This Claymore Spring Cap sold at our online auction for £490
