Lot Information

A bottle of Château de Fontainebleau 1811 Caves de l'Empereur Cognac. We estimate this was bottled in the 1930s.

This is sealed with a cork and foil capsule. The label is missing, but the following text is visible on the capsule:

Caves De L'Empereur
Château de Fontainebleau

The shoulder is embossed with an 'N' and a crown.

Château de Fontainebleau is located 55km south of Paris and is now a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The medieval castle and subsequent palace served as a residence for the French monarchs from Louis VII through to Napoleon III, the first elected president of France.

Please see images for fill level and label condition. Note wear to the capsule.

Note the absence of a condition statement does not imply that this lot is in perfect condition or free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of ageing.
This bottle does not appear to be leaking. While we take every care to pack bottles securely we cannot guarantee that old corks and closures will not leak in transit.
