Description

A bottle of the second batch of The Balvenie Tun 1509. This is a vatting of malts matured in traditional whisky casks and sherry butts, and all married together in Tun 1509 by Malt Master David Stewart. This includes a chart describing the flavour profiles of the different cask types.

The Balvenie distillery was founded in 1889 by whisky pioneer William Grant, and has been in the same family for five generations. Today, it is one of the few family-owned distilleries in Scotland, producing whisky in a traditional style; using local barley where possible, and still maintaining their own malting floor.
