A bottle of 1988 Chambolle-Musigny from Domaine Jean Grivot from the Combe d'Orveaux 'lieu dit' - not a premier cru, but considered a superior vineyard, and in this case located next door to the Grand Cru Echézeaux vineyard.
Chambolle, in the Côte de Nuits, is often cited as being responsible for producing the most feminine and elegant Pinot Noirs in Burgundy. 1988 produced classic, initially austere wines that have repaid cellaring.
Please see images for fill level and label condition. Note damage and staining to the label and capsule. The cork is protruding very slightly, but the seal is solid, and there is no sign of previous leakage.
Note the absence of a condition statement does not imply that this lot is in perfect condition or free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of ageing.
This bottle does not appear to be leaking. While we take every care to pack bottles securely we cannot guarantee that old corks and closures will not leak in transit.
