Description

A magnum of 2005 Hermitage Monier de la Sizeranne from producer M Chapoutier, from biodynamically grown fruit in the north of the Rhone valley on one of France's steepest vineyards.

'A very minerally, driven style, with a strong iron-tinged spine driving the red and black currant, coffee, loam and dark licorice notes. This is tightly wound on the finish, so cellar to let it stretch out. Best from 2010 through 2020. 94/100' Wine Spectator

Hermitage AOC is an appellation in the northern Rhone valley, producing red wine from the Syrah grape variety.
