This lot contains ten bottles of Offley Boa Vista 1972 vintage port, bottled in 1974 with its original wooden case.
Boa Vista means ‘beautiful view’, and the reputation of the shipper grew under Joseph Forrester’s ownership, who was also known for his mapping of the upper regions of the Douro Valley. He subsequently drowned in one of the region's most treacherous rapids.
There are no sizes or ABVs stated on the labels.
Please see images for fill level and label condition and damage to the wooden box. There appears to have been some minor leakage on four of these bottles, and two of the corks are protruding by 2-4mm, but the fill levels are good.
Note the absence of a condition statement does not imply that this lot is in perfect condition or free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of ageing.
This bottle does not appear to be leaking. While we take every care to pack bottles securely we cannot guarantee that old corks and closures will not leak in transit.
