A bottle of 1999 Vieux Télégraphe Châteauneuf du Pape. Domaine du Vieux Télégraphe derive its name from an old telegraph station, which was once sited on the hill where the domaine now stands.

The vineyards, unusually for Châteauneuf du Pape, are lie in a single block, on the La Crau plateau, today covering an area of 70 hectares. The vines average 50 years of age, with a significant proportion closer to 65 years old.

'Very sweet and thick and dense. With some quite dry tannins and lots of alcohol. A little rustic 17/20.' Jancis Robinson MW, 2010

This Vieux Telegraphe 1999 sold at our online auction for £35
