Compass Box Spice Tree – Second Edition Banned in 2006 70cl / 46%

This the ‘illegal’ second version of The Spice Tree from 2006, famously banned by the Scotch Whisky Association.

As part of the maturation, some casks had heavily toasted new oak staves placed inside the casks with the whisky, which the Scotch Whisky Association deemed to be against the regulations governing whisky production. As such the whisky was removed from sale and replaced with a new version, using new oak cask heads instead.

Please note this is not the first edition as previously stated.
