Description

A bottle of Bols Zeer Oude Genever. We estimate this was bottled in the 1930s to 1940s.

Genever, also known as Jenever or Genièvre, is a juniper flavoured spirit that has been produced in the Netherlands and Belgium since the 16th century. It is the precursor to Gin.

'Oude', or 'old' genevers are not aged but rather are made to the traditional old style – with a small percentage of malt wine flavoured with aromatic botanicals.

There is no size or ABV stated on the label, but this appears to be a 100cl bottle.

This Bols Zeer Oude Genever sold at our online auction for £135
