A bottle of Castle Grand JJ 7 Year Old Irish whiskey. This was distilled at John Jameson & Son's distillery on Bow Street, Dublin. At the turn of the 20th century W & A Gilbey Ltd held more than 700,000 gallons of Jameson whiskey in bonded storage at their Harcourt Street warehouse. As importers of sherry they had easy access to casks and would supply these to Jameson to be filled with whiskey. This whiskey would later be sold by Gilbey's under either their Redbreast or Castle Grand JJ brand. The Castle Grand JJ brand was phased out during the 1940s and we would estimate that this was bottled during the late 1930s to early 1940s.
There is no size stated, but this appears to be approximately 15cl.
