Description

This lot contains three bottles of blended Scotch whisky, which we estimate were bottled in the 1930s:

1 x Macnair's 8 Year Old Fine Old Scotch Whisky, blended and bottled by Harvey Macnair & Co. Ltd., 4.7cl, 43% ABV. This was imported to the US by Gooderham & Worts ltd., the Illinois tax stamp appears to be dated 1936.

1 x Sandeman's 8 Year Old VVO Brand of Blended Scotch Whisky, blended and bottled by Sandeman & Sons, 4.7cl, 43% ABV. This was imported to the US by Esquire Liquor Co., we estimate between 1934 and 1938.

1 x Scots Imperial 12 Year Old Grand Reserve, blended and bottled by McGregor Anderson & Co., 5cl, 45% ABV. This was imported to the US by Pacific Wine & Spirits Company, we estimate in the 1930s.

Condition

Please see images for fill level and label condition. Note wear to the labels and capsules. The Sandeman's bottle has been dipped in wax by the original owner.

These bottles have low fill levels.

Note the absence of a condition statement does not imply that this lot is in perfect condition or free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of ageing.

This bottle does not appear to be leaking. While we take every care to pack bottles securely we cannot guarantee that old corks and closures will not leak in transit.
