Description

A bottle of Whiteley's Blended Grand Liqueur Highland Scotch Whisky, blended and bottled by William Whiteley & Co., Leith, Scotland. This was imported to the US by Alliance Distributors Inc., New York.

William Whiteley & Co. was best known for the King's Ransom and House of Lords brands, as well being the owner of Edradour distillery from 1933. During the Prohibition era, William Whiteley developed a relationship with mafia boss Frank Costello, smuggling his own brands of Scotch into the US via the island of St Pierre, Newfoundland.
