Description

A bottle of Corton-Charlemagne from one of Burgundy's most celebrated hillside vineyards. Sometimes referred to as 'the Chablis of the Cote d'Or' for its ability to combine power and flesh with a purer, minerally edge more readily associated with wines from cooler, more northerly vineyards. Corton-Charlemagne is named after the Holy Roman Emperor Charlemagne, who once owned the hill of Corton on which the vineyards now rest.

Condition

Please see images for fill level and label condition. Note that the capsule appears to have been slightly squashed when originally applied, but the cork is securely contained.

As this is a mature white Burgundy it is natural for the liquid to have oxidised and become darker with time.

Note the absence of a condition statement does not imply that this lot is in perfect condition or free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of ageing.

This bottle does not appear to be leaking. While we take every care to pack bottles securely we cannot guarantee that old corks and closures will not leak in transit.
