A bottle of Mackinlay's Rare Old Highland Malt.
This bottling is a replica of the whisky shipped to Antarctica in 1907 in preparation for Ernest Shackleton's Nimrod expedition. After almost a century buried in ice under the explorer's hut, the whisky was painstakingly recreated by Whyte & Mackay's master blender, Richard Paterson.
This bottle comes with a facsimile of a letter sent by Ernest Shackleton to Mr Thomson, regarding his order of 43 cases of whisky to be shipped for the British Antarctic Expedition 1907.
Please see images for fill level and label condition.
