Nottingham Private Cellar

Description

A very old hand-blown bottle sealed with a cork. There is no label, size or strength stated. There is an 'N' embossed on the shoulder, which together with the style of bottle leads us to believe this is a Napoleon Cognac.

We estimate this was bottled in the 19th Century. This bottle comes from a family cellar in Nottingham where it has been held for as long as the family can remember.

Please see condition statement prior to bidding.

Condition

Please see images for fill level and label condition. Note damage to the capsule and sediment in the bottle. This bottle has had some leakage in the past, and as such is available for collection only. This lot is offered for historical interest rather than for human consumption

Note the absence of a condition statement does not imply that this lot is in perfect condition or free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of ageing.

This bottle does not appear to be leaking. While we take every care to pack bottles securely we cannot guarantee that old corks and closures will not leak in transit.
