Description

A bottle of Banff 26 Year Old from Duncan Taylor's Rarest of the Rare series, a range of cask strength, single cask whiskies from distilleries which no longer exist.

This was distilled in November 1980, and bottled in November 2006.

This is bottle number 135 of 220; it was bottled from cask number 2913.

The first Banff distillery was founded in 1824 by James McKilligan & Co., it changed hands several times and closed in 1862 after ten years of ownership by James Simpson & Son. The following year, James Simpson Jr. built a new distillery using the Banff name, and this survived fires, bombing, and an explosion, before finally closing in 1983.
