Description

A pre-release of a limited edition bottling.

An exceptional rum from the sought-after “ghost” distillery Caroni, one of a limited number of bottles from a single cask distilled in 1997.

Formerly a Royal Navy supplier, Caroni is now a ghost distillery with cult status. This is one of a pair of sister casks acquired by Elixir Distillers, each column-distilled in 1997 and aged for 13 years on the island, and a further 16 years in Scotland. From this cask, #189, expect the particular, heavy style characteristic of Caroni with flavours of a tropical fruit salad, with the addition of grapefruit, plus almond cake and spice notes.
