Description

This lot includes 12 x 4/5 quart bottles of Johnnie Walker Red Label presented in the original wooden box with original cardboard separators. Ten of the bottles have their original paper wrapping.

These were bottled for the US market and were distributed by the agents The Canada Dry Ginger Ale Corporation. We estimate they were bottled between 1937 and 1950.

The Missouri tax stamp bears the signature of Supervisor of Liquor Control Covell R. Hewitt, who began his mandate in 1949.

This Johnnie Walker Red Label sold at our online auction for £2,500

Condition

Please see images. Note damage and staining to the wooden box, the box lid, the labels and the tax strips. Two bottles are missing their paper wrapping. Despite extreme care during inspection and photographing the paper wrapping may have changed appearance since photographing. The rubber bands around many of the tax stamps are partially or entirely missing.
