Description

A bottle of 1990 Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru from Domaine Leflaive, a producer generally acknowledged as possessing the most impressive white wine vineyard portfolio in the Côte d'Or. They have a 1.73 hectare holding of Bâtard, famously the richest and most potent white wine Grand Cru in Burgundy.

This was imported to the UK by John Armit wine merchants.

'A wine with laser-guided flavors. Intense pear, lemon, vanilla and coconut character. Great backbone and superb, fresh finish. 95/100' Wine Spectator, tasted 1993

Condition

Please see images for fill level and label condition. Note general wear. This appears to have experienced some seepage in the past but is not leaking - we recommend it for collection only; it is shipped entirely at the buyer's risk.

Please note, the capsule is damaged, but appears to be secure.

The Whisky.Auction team has inspected this lot and found it to be suitable for sale. However, please note the absence of a condition statement does not imply that this lot is in perfect condition or free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of ageing. We cannot guarantee that the contents of this bottle will be free from the effects of age, cork taint, oxidation or other faults. Older bottles often contain sediment. Wines are more fragile than spirits and older wines may be listed, at our discretion, for their historical interest rather than their drinkability. We can in no way guarantee that they are still within their plateau of maturity or to the buyer’s taste.

This bottle does not appear to be leaking. While we take every care to pack bottles securely we cannot guarantee that old corks and closures will not leak in transit.
