This lot contains two half bottles of 2003 Château De Fargues from Sauternes.
'In 1472, 300 years before the Lur Saluces family bought the famous Château d'Yquem, she already owned Château de Fargues. Although Fargues has never been classified, the quality of the wine produced there is exceptional. Still owned by the Lur Saluces family, it receives almost the same attention as Yquem in winemaking....the yield is also lower than that of Yquem, so that it is said that if the tiny production per foot of Yquem is equivalent to a single glass of wine, that of a vine Fargues must give barely two-thirds.'

The Whisky.Auction team has inspected this lot and found it to be suitable for sale. However, please note the absence of a condition statement does not imply that this lot is in perfect condition or free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of ageing. We cannot guarantee that the contents of this bottle will be free from the effects of age, cork taint, oxidation or other faults. Older bottles often contain sediment. Wines are more fragile than spirits and older wines may be listed, at our discretion, for their historical interest rather than their drinkability. We can in no way guarantee that they are still within their plateau of maturity or to the buyer’s taste.
This bottle does not appear to be leaking. While we take every care to pack bottles securely we cannot guarantee that old corks and closures will not leak in transit.
