The label reads:

This wholesome spirit made from sugar cane in the British Empire, stimulates and nourishes. With lime or lemon it is cooling and refreshing. With hot water, sugar, ginger etc., it is the most warming of drinks. Its uses in the kitchen are manifold, omelettes, puddings, mincepies, sweetmeats, etc., etc., are not perfect without it.
