Charles Camille Heidsieck was a nineteenth century French Champagne merchant who founded the Champagne firm Charles Heidsieck in 1851. He is credited with popularizing Champagne in the United States and was known as 'Champagne Charlie' during his stay.

This lot is offered for historical interest rather than for human consumption. As this is an older Champagne it is likely that it has lost its bubbles naturally over time. It is also natural for the liquid to have oxidised and become darker
