this lot is offered for historical interest rather than for human consumption
Please see images for fill level and label condition. Note build up of sediment in the bottle. Please note, the capsule is damaged, but appears to be secure. This lot is offered for historical interest rather than for human consumption. As this is an older Champagne it is likely that it has lost its bubbles naturally over time. It is also natural for the liquid to have oxidised and become darker
The Whisky.Auction team has inspected this lot and found it to be suitable for sale. However, please note the absence of a condition statement does not imply that this lot is in perfect condition or free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of ageing. We cannot guarantee that the contents of this bottle will be free from the effects of age, cork taint, oxidation or other faults. Older bottles often contain sediment. Wines are more fragile than spirits and older wines may be listed, at our discretion, for their historical interest rather than their drinkability. We can in no way guarantee that they are still within their plateau of maturity or to the buyer’s taste.
This bottle does not appear to be leaking. While we take every care to pack bottles securely we cannot guarantee that old corks and closures will not leak in transit.
