Description

A bottle of 1979 Vieux Château Certan from Mr. et Mme Georges Thienpoint, Pomerol. 'VCC' as it is often known as, is a 14 hectare estate planted, largely in a single block, with 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon.

Situated next door to Pétrus, it yields around 60,000 bottles per vintage.

This lot comes from the cellar of our Whisky Exchange colleague; author, wine educator and fortified wine authority, the late Godfrey Spence.
