Description

A bottle of 2019 Echèzeaux Les Rouges du Bas Grand Cru from Domaine Méo Camuzet, harvested from a 0.44 hectare parcel of 50 year old plus vines.

The Echèzeaux appellation came into being in 1937, and is large by Burgundy standards, comprising of 37.7 hectare of vines divided between around 80 owners, and comprises 11 'lieux dits' vineyards. It is situated within the village of Flagey-Echèzeaux, north of Vosne-Romanée.

'Ultra-spicy red and black berry aromas combine with those of jasmine tea, violet, star anise and discreet oak. The succulent, rich and delicious flavors possess excellent volume and mid-palate density while exhibiting a subtle minerality on the firm, serious and built-to-age finale that also flashes a touch of warmth.
