A bottle of 1937 Grand Vin de Château Latour from Bordeaux's Pauillac appellation.
Château Latour is ranked as a First Growth under the 1855 Bordeaux Classification and is generally considered to be the most powerful of them all in terms of longevity and depth of flavour. The core of the fruit comes from the 45 hectare L'Enclos vineyard, which is located next to the Château and winery. Plantings are 80% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Merlot and 5% Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc.
Please note, there is no size or ABV stated on the label.
This bottle is from the collection of a London fine dining restauranteur, and has been kept in London City Bond prior to sending to us for sale.
Please see images for fill level and label condition. Note damage to the label and capsule.Due to the fill-level and potential fragility of the cork we recommend this for collection only, and it is shipped entirely at the buyer's own risk.
The Whisky.Auction team has inspected this lot and found it to be suitable for sale. However, please note the absence of a condition statement does not imply that this lot is in perfect condition or free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of ageing. We cannot guarantee that the contents of this bottle will be free from the effects of age, cork taint, oxidation or other faults. Older bottles often contain sediment. Wines are more fragile than spirits and older wines may be listed, at our discretion, for their historical interest rather than their drinkability. We can in no way guarantee that they are still within their plateau of maturity or to the buyer’s taste.
This bottle does not appear to be leaking. While we take every care to pack bottles securely we cannot guarantee that old corks and closures will not leak in transit.
