A bottle of 2000 Tenuta Di Trinoro from Tuscan producer Andrea Franchetti from vines planted in 1992 in a vineyard west of the Florence-Rome motorway. This is a Cabernet Franc blend, with other Bordeaux varietals in support.
'Franchetti once again takes ripeness to the extreme with his stunning 2000 Tenuta di Trinoro (55% Cabernet Franc, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Petit Verdot). It is a flamboyant wine packed with generous sensations of blackberry liqueur, jammy dark fruit, bell peppers, cassis and minerals. Fat and opulent on the palate, it displays a youthful, muscular personality, with outstanding finesse for a wine of this size. It is an awesome effort. 95/100' Robert Parker's Wine Advocate, 2002

The Whisky.Auction team has inspected this lot and found it to be suitable for sale. However, please note the absence of a condition statement does not imply that this lot is in perfect condition or free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of ageing. We cannot guarantee that the contents of this bottle will be free from the effects of age, cork taint, oxidation or other faults. Older bottles often contain sediment. Wines are more fragile than spirits and older wines may be listed, at our discretion, for their historical interest rather than their drinkability. We can in no way guarantee that they are still within their plateau of maturity or to the buyer’s taste.
