Description

A bottle of Osborne Oloroso Solera Alonso El Sabio from some of the oldest wines in the company's cellars, back to 1772.

This was released, we estimate, in the 1990s before the 'VORS' sherry designation came into being in 2000.

Vinum Optimum Rare Signatum', though this is often anglicised more simply to 'Very Old Rare Sherry', a categorisation for sherries averaging at least 30 years old average age.

Condition

Please see images for fill level and label condition. Note damage to the label.

The Whisky.Auction team has inspected this lot and found it to be suitable for sale. However, please note the absence of a condition statement does not imply that this lot is in perfect condition or free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of ageing. We cannot guarantee that the contents of this bottle will be free from the effects of age, cork taint, oxidation or other faults. Older bottles often contain sediment. Wines are more fragile than spirits and older wines may be listed, at our discretion, for their historical interest rather than their drinkability. We can in no way guarantee that they are still within their plateau of maturity or to the buyer’s taste.

This bottle does not appear to be leaking. While we take every care to pack bottles securely we cannot guarantee that old corks and closures will not leak in transit.
