Description

A magnum bottle of Krug Grande Cuvée Champagne, 169th edition. This is a blend of 43% Pinot Noir, 35% Chardonnay and 22% Pinot Meunier based around the 2013 vintage, with the oldest wine from the 2000 vintage. This was disgorged in autumn 2021.

Grande Cuvée is blended from around 120 wines from multiple vintages, some as much as 15 years old. After bottling it remains in Krug's cellars for a further six years, resulting in a complex, 'vinous' Champagne. Wine critic Andrew Jefford noted that: 'of all the wine world's luxury wine brands, Krug is perhaps the most glittering'.
