A bottle of 1962 Château Batailley from Bordeaux's Pauillac appellation, a 22 hectare estate planted with 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc. Originally part of Château Batailley, which was divided in the 1940s, it was sold to François Borie who combined the vineyards with 15 hectares from Duhart-Milon.
Please note, there is no size or ABV stated on the label, but this appears to be 75cl.
Please see images for fill level and label condition. Note general wear.
The Whisky.Auction team has inspected this lot and found it to be suitable for sale. However, please note the absence of a condition statement does not imply that this lot is in perfect condition or free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of ageing. We cannot guarantee that the contents of this bottle will be free from the effects of age, cork taint, oxidation or other faults. Older bottles often contain sediment. Wines are more fragile than spirits and older wines may be listed, at our discretion, for their historical interest rather than their drinkability. We can in no way guarantee that they are still within their plateau of maturity or to the buyer’s taste.
This bottle does not appear to be leaking. While we take every care to pack bottles securely we cannot guarantee that old corks and closures will not leak in transit.
