This lot contains two half bottles of 2003 Château Coutet Premier Cru Classé from the Barsac sub-appellation of Sauternes.
'The 2003 Coutet is pale to medium gold colored and leaps from the glass with vivacious notes of baked peaches, key lime pie and candied orange peel with hints of lime leaves, praline and lemon curd. The rich, expressive palate is laden with spicy layers, framed by lively acid and finishing on a crème caramel note. Drink Date 2018-2028. 91/100'

The Whisky.Auction team has inspected this lot and found it to be suitable for sale. However, please note the absence of a condition statement does not imply that this lot is in perfect condition or free from wear and tear, imperfections or the effects of ageing. We cannot guarantee that the contents of this bottle will be free from the effects of age, cork taint, oxidation or other faults. Older bottles often contain sediment. Wines are more fragile than spirits and older wines may be listed, at our discretion, for their historical interest rather than their drinkability. We can in no way guarantee that they are still within their plateau of maturity or to the buyer’s taste.
This bottle does not appear to be leaking. While we take every care to pack bottles securely we cannot guarantee that old corks and closures will not leak in transit.
